Passports

A passport valid for at least six months is required by all nationals referred to in the chart.

Visas

Nationals of the USA do not require a visa if entering Mongolia as a tourist for stays of up to 90 days.

Nationals of Canada and (1) Germany do not require a visa if entering Mongolia as a tourist for stays of up to 30 days.

All other nationals referred to in the chart above require a visa.

Nationals not referred to in the chart above are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements.

Visa Note

All foreign nationals staying in Mongolia for longer than 30 days are required to register with the Mongolian Immigration Agency within seven days of arrival.

Types and Cost

Single-entry transit visa: GBP£40; double-entry transit visa: GBP£55. Expedited service will cost more.

Validity

30 days within three months of issue.

Transit

Nationals transiting via train can apply for a single- or double-entry transit visa.

Application to

Consulate (or consular section at embassy).

Working days

Visa processing takes two to five days.

Entry with children

Adults accompanying children other than their own should bring a notarised letter from the child's parent/legal guardian authorising them to travel.

Exit Permission

Visitors who have been in Mongolia for more than 90 days must obtain an exit visa from the Office of Immigration which usually takes 10 days to process.
