Passports
A passport valid for six months beyond the intended length of stay is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.
Visas
Visas to Pakistan are required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.
Nationals not referred to in the chart above are advised to contact the high commission/embassy to check visa requirements.
Visa Note
You’ll need to prepare a photocopy of your passport, two passport photos, a utility bill for proof of address, your itinerary, a photocopy of your hotel booking, bank statements from the previous three months and a letter from your place of work explaining that you will be returning to work. Business travellers also need letters of invitation from organisations both at home and in Pakistan.
Types and Cost
Single-entry visa: £134; double-entry visa: £152; one-year multiple-entry visa: £362; two-year multiple-entry visa: £362; three-year multiple-entry visa: £512. Reductions are available for Pakistani/British dual nationals. These fees include the £30 service fee charged by Gerry's Visa Services.
Validity
Single-entry/double-entry visas: six months from the date of issue for stays of up to three months; multiple-entry visas: one, two or three years.
Transit
Transit visas are required by all nationals in the chart above and are valid for 72 hours; travellers must hold confirmed onward tickets.
Application to
Consulate (or consulate section at embassy/high commission). In the UK, the high commission uses the company Gerry's Visa Services to process applications (www.visadropbox.com).
Working days
Depends on nationality (in the UK, visas are normally granted within five working days). Enquire at the nearest consulate or embassy.
Extension of stay
It is usually possible for tourists to extend their stay. Contact the Regional Passport Office in Islamabad.
Entry with children
Children need their own passports. Immigration authorities will demand documentary evidence of parental responsibility, especially if the child is of Pakistani origin, before permitting the child to leave the country.
